If anyone out there owns a motorcycle, then this might be interesting news! I have just come across a very interesting review of the types of motorcycle intercoms available in the market today, and wouldn't you know it, Bluetooth was on the list.
Here are the 3 types:
Here are the 3 types:
- Acoustic Motorcycle Intercom
- hollow tubes that your voice travels through (doesn't use electronics at all).
- Wired Motorcycle Intercom
- wires run from the rider and passenger into a central control box that houses the electronics and battery.
- Wireless Intercom Technologies
- General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS),
- Family Radio Service (FRS),
- Frequency Modulation (FM),
- Bluetooth.
I've never actually used one myself (yet) but the comparison is pretty comprehensive regarding the general features and doesn't go into a brand by brand or model by model comparison, so it will really help you pick the right type, that suits your needs.
I am really anxious to get a Bluetooth one now, as I don't really want people picking up my conversations...
