Nokia Announces Metro Targeting on the "Nokia Media Network" Mobile Advertising Network
Written on Tuesday, October 07, 2008
Nokia has recently announced a new service that allows marketers to run mobile marketing campaigns in 10 major metro areas in the U.S., as part of the Nokia Media Network (a premium mobile advertising network).
“The ability to target mobile ads to specific metro areas makes local advertising a reality on the mobile device,” said Tom Henriksson, head of Nokia Interactive Advertising. “This is particularly compelling for advertisers that want to leverage mobile for local promotions and regional advertisers that want to reach their core customer base. And, in an election year, when other forms of local media are saturated with political advertising, mobile is now a viable, uncluttered medium for reaching key segments in specific geographies.”The service allows marketers to focus their campaigns on specific areas, such as:
- Atlanta, GA
- Boston, MA
- Chicago, IL
- Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX
- Los Angeles, CA
- Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN
- New York, NY
- San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, CA
- Seattle-Tacoma, WA
- Washington, DC
I've said in other posts that mobile advertising networks are the next big thing to hit the mobile world, and appear as a huge opportunity for those with the potential and technical expertise to make the big leap and establish one to provide mobile advertising in their area.
